Details | A stone seat (gal-āsana) with a moulded base surmounted by a square slab. The surface of the top slab has been smoothed and engraved with an inscription between ruled lines 2 inches (5.08 cm) apart, running parallel to each side of the square and leaving a blank space of 6½ inches (16.51 cm) square at the centre. The base is comprised of two slabs stacked on top of one another. |

Details | Discovered in 1921 in the village of Kantaläi on the Trincomalee Railway track at a spot in ‘section 2, mile 14, chains 77 and 78’ and afterwards removed to Anurādhapura. |
