Details A stone seat (gal-āsana) with a moulded base surmounted by a square slab. The surface of the top slab has been smoothed and engraved with an inscription between ruled lines 2 inches (5.08 cm) apart, running parallel to each side of the square and leaving a blank space of 6½ inches (16.51 cm) square at the centre. The base is comprised of two slabs stacked on top of one another.

Details Discovered in 1921 in the village of Kantaläi on the Trincomalee Railway track at a spot in ‘section 2, mile 14, chains 77 and 78’ and afterwards removed to Anurādhapura.
