According to Fleet 1888: 273, this is inscription is on the upper part of the face of the pedestal of an image of the standing Buddha, draped and with a nimbus behind his head and shoulders. Dimensions are not reported for the image. Contrarily, Dowson 1871: 185 says the inscription belongs to a "Well at the Kattra" without providing any further details, while ASIR 03: 37 tells us nothing of the support except that it is from Katra Mound. |

Discovered by Cunningham before 1871 in the Katrā mound at Mathurā. Moved from the Government Museum of Allahabad to the Provincial Museum of Lucknow shortly before 1888.
