Details | Discovered in 1871-72 by Carlyelle. The pillar is on a rubble masonry platform inside the fort of Bijayagaḍh or Bejegaḍh, about 3.2 km to the southwest of Bayānā (26.915813, 77.288870). The platform appears more recent than the pillar, and the pillar also has a later inscription, possibly of the 10th century (Fleet 1888: 253) which may be the time when it was moved to its present location from another site. |
