1-2) Of mahārājādhirāja śrī Samudragupta, the exterminator of all kings, without equal on earth, the daughter’s son (dauhitra) of the Licchavis, begotten on mahādevī Kumāradevī, the great grandson of mahārāja śrī Gupta, the grandson of maharaja  śrī Ghaṭotkaca, the son of mahārājādhirāja śrī Candragupta.

2-4) His son, approved by him (for the throne) and himself) without an equal, was paramabhāgavata mahārājādhirāja śrīCandragupta, begotten on mahādevī Dattadevī. His son, who meditated on his feet, who was begotten on mahādevī Dhruvadevī, was mahārājādhirāja śrī Kumāragupta.

4-8) His son, who meditated on his feet, who was begotten on mahādevī Anantadevī, was mahārājādhirāja śrī Purugupta. His son, who meditated on his feet, who was begotten on mahādevī Candradevī, was mahārājādhirāja śrīNarasiṃhagupta.

His son, who meditated on his feet, who was begotten on mahādevī Mitradevī, is paramabhāgavata mahārājādhirāja śrī Kumāragupta.
