1-4) This image of Lord Candraprabha, the Arhat, has been caused to be made by the illustrious mahārājādhirāja Rāmagupta under instruction from the mendicant Chella, who is the good son of Golakyāntī, the disciple of the teacher Sarpasena, the mendicant (and) the disciple’s disciple of the teacher Candrakṣama, the mendicant and monk, who took a vow to use his palms as a bowl.
