SIDDHAM is a platform for the semantic display of epigraphic texts and associated entities in South, Central and South-east Asia.
SIDDHAM is a searchable platform drawing on data archived in ZENODO and other stable repositories. The platform embraces languages with substantial epigraphic traditions in South, Central and South-east Asia: Sanskrit, Prakrit, Tamil, Telegu, Kannada, Persian, Arabic, Tibetan, Pyu, Burmese, Mon, Khmer and related languages.
Data in SIDDHAM is organised into communities mirroring those in ZENODO with additional geographical, site and object information. Entries are peer-reviewed and archived in ZENODO to ensure compliance with FAIR principles.
Indices are prepared when collections are sufficiently developed to benefit from an indexing guide.
Paramāra epigraphy. Collection pertaining to the Paramāra dynasty of central India developed under a grant from PennGlobal, University of Pennsylvania, under the direction of Dr Daud Ali.
Gupta epigraphy. Collection pertaining to the Gupta dynasty of north India developed under ERC synergy grant 609823 by Dániel Balogh under the direction of Dr M. Willis.
Vākāṭaka epigraphy. Collection pertaining to the Vākāṭaka dynasty of Vidarbha developed under ERC synergy grant 609823 by Dániel Balogh under the direction of Dr M. Willis.
Bodhgayā epigraphy. Collection pertaining to the site of Bodhgaya developed under the direction of Dr Daniela De Simone, UGent.
Chinese epigraphy. Collection of Chinese material in India developed under the direction of Dr Max Deeg, Cardiff University.
Sri Lankan epigraphy. Collection of material related to Sri Lanka developed under ERC synergy grant 609823 by Katherine Gazzard under the the direction of Dr Sven Bretfeld, NTNU, and Dr M. Willis.
Pyu epigraphy. Collection of material related the Pyu of ancient Burma developed under ERC synergy grant 609823 by Marc Miyake and Janice Stargardt, Sidney Sussex College, Cambridge.
Tibetan epigraphy. Collection of material from central Tibet during the dynastic period curated under the direction of Dr Ulrich Pagel, SOAS, with Dr M. Willis and Tsering Gonkatsang, University of Oxford.
Asia Inscriptions Online (AIO). Collection of images, publications and related data embracing South, Central, and South-east Asia with a chronological horizon from the early centuries BCE to the nineteenth century.
Paramāra epigraphy. Collection of source material and metadata relating to the Paramāra dynasty of central India and Rajasthan.
Central India Archive. Collection of images, publications and archival documents relating to Malwa and neighbouring regions of India.
Early Kadamba epigraphy. Collection of source materials and metadata relating to the early Kadamba dynasty of Karnataka.
Nepal epigraphy. Collection of source materials and metadata from Nepal.
Sri Lanka epigraphy. Collection of source materials and metadata from Sri Lanka.
Pyu epigraphy. Collection of source materials relating to Pyu records in Burma.
Topography of India. Collection of Survey of India Maps covering most of India.
Old Survey of India Maps. Collection of about 26,900 maps issued by the Survey of India and descendant organisations in Pakistan, Bangladesh and Burma.
