Wickremasinghe, Don Martino de Zilva. (1912-27). ‘No. 35. Am̆bagamuva Rock-Inscription of Vijaya-Bāhu I (1058-1114 A.D.),’ Epigraphia Zeylanica 2, pp. 202-218. |
Details |
Situated on the summit of a hill in Am̆bagamuva, a small village near Nāwalapiṭiya. In 1924, Wickremasinghe described the village’s location as “among the tea estates of Upper or Uḍa Bulatgama, 5.65 miles from Nāwalapiṭiya on the main road from Kandy to Hatton and to Colombo via Ginigat-hēna, the road passing through the village fields”. The inscription was examined by H. C. P. Bell sometime around 1912.
