Details A set of five plates, two of which (here numbered Plates 4 and 5, OB00162g and OB00162h) carry no inscription at all. The first and last of the remaining three are inscribed only on the inner side, the second on both faces. Their surface is flat, without raised rims. The hole for the connecting ring is on the left-hand side, vertically at the centre, and horizontally 3.2 cm from the edge. The plates are linked by a ring, on which the seal is also hung by a copper band attached to the back of the seal. The seal is blank like two of the plates. At the time they were studied by Kielhorn, all components were assembled.

Details Discovered in the vicinity of Bālāghāṭ (21.812899, 80.183777) and sent to the Asiatic Society of Bengal in 1893. The accompanying letter stated that they were found "some time ago, hanging to a tree in the jungle" (Kielhorn 1907-08: 267). They were in the Asiatic Society's possession when Kielhorn studied them around 1905, but Mirashi 1963 says their present wherabouts are not known.
