Weight 2800
Details A set of two plates, each inscribed on one face only. The edges are thickened, but the inscription is nonetheless worn. The plates have a hole at the centre of the upper margin, but the connecting ring and seal are lost. There is, however, a seal impression on the bottom of the second plate. The inscribed faces are presumably 1verso and 2recto, in which case the top of each page faced inward when the plates were opened like a book. The weight of the plates is reported by Pandey 1949-50: 264 as 1.5 seers each. Pandey has apparently not seen the plates personally and the figure seems excessive, even 1400 grams for the two plates sounds a bit too much. His informant may have made a mistake, or perhaps used a much smaller seer than standard.

Details Found before 1949 in a village between Rewa and Satna and handed over to Muni Kantisagar of Jabalpur, who sent photographs to A. S. Altekar and R. B. Pandey. Pandey 1949-50 did not know the present location of the plates.
