Details | A set of two plates, each inscribed on one face only, the second plate slightly smaller. The edges are thickened into rims. The plates are quite thin and the engraving is deep, showing through clearly on the back. They have a hole at the centre of the upper margin, and have been cut from the hole to the upper edge to remove the ring, which is now lost along with the seal. The inscribed faces are presumably 1verso and 2recto, in which case the top of each page faced inward when the plates were opened like a book. |
