Details A set of two plates, each inscribed on one face only; one inscription (IN00084) occupies one face of each plate, while another inscription (IN00085) had been engraved on the other face of the first plate and beaten out completely so as to be all but illegible. This latter inscription was probably cancelled because of a copying error and the plate reused for the former inscription. The plates are smooth, without thickening or raising at the rims. They are fairly thick and the engraving does not show through on the backs. They seem to have been damaged by fire, but are reasonably well preserved. The plates have a hole at the centre of the upper margin. They were connected by a seal ring, extant but detached by removing one end of the ring from the socket on the seal. The faces bearing the primary inscription are presumably 1verso and 2recto, in which case the top of each page faced inward when the plates were opened like a book. The inscription is very well preserved.
