Details | A set of two plates, each inscribed on one face only, the second plate slightly smaller. The plates are smooth, without thickening or raising at the rims. They are fairly thick but deeply engraved, showing through faintly at the back. They have a hole at the centre of the upper margin, but the connecting ring and seal are lost. The inscribed faces are presumably 1verso and 2recto, in which case the top of each page faced inward when the plates were opened like a book. The inscription is very well preserved. |
