Details |
A set of two plates, each inscribed on one face only. Thin and deeply engraved, hence the backs were not suitable for writing on. Perforated about the middle of the upper side and originally connected through the hole by a ring to which a seal was attached. The inscribed faces are presumably 1verso and 2recto, in which case the top of each page faced inward when the plates were opened like a book. The weight of the two plates (without ring and seal) is about 850 grams. |

Details |
Apparently (ASIR 09: 7) found in 1870 while ploughing a field belonging to the village of Majhgawam (Majgowa in Cunningham's spelling) in the valley around Khoh (Google Map 24.365845, 80.719145). The village is said to be about 3 miles to the SW of Uchaharā, but this appears to be the location of Khoh village; Google Maps shows several other settlements in MP by the name Majhgawan and Majhgawa, but none in this area. The current location of the plates is unknown. |
