Details An oval seal. The upper field, separated by a double horizontal line, is occupied by an effigy of Garuḍa. This second specimen is less well preserved than the first (OB00046). The proper right half is lost along with about the upper one third of the proper left half. The text of the two specimens is identical, but this second specimen was probably produced with a cruder metal/stone seal and by an unsteady hand.

Authority
Details Probably now in the Archaeological Museum, Nalanda. Discovered in 1927-28 during the excavation of Monastery site 1 at Nālandā along with OB00034, OB00044, OB00046, OB00048, OB00049 and OB00052. All these seals are clay impressions that seem to have been baked accidentally in a monastery fire.
Notes Found together with OB00046, which bears an identical legend.
