Details | Discovered in 1884 by a railway engineer whom Fleet had sent to take impressions of Yaśodharman's pillar inscription. The slab was built into the wall on the right-hand side, halfway down a flight of steps leading to the river at Mahādev Ghāṭ in Mandsaur, opposite the fort, in the vicinity of the hamlet of Candrapurā. (This is probably where the modern Pasupatinath temple stands, at 24°03’20”N 75°04’23”E.) |
