Details Ramesh Tewari 1990 give no provenance information at all. Bajpai 1980:94 says the plate is in the possession of a resident of Indore. According to Mirashi 1981a:225 the plate was purchased by the National Museum from a metal merchant of Indore and had been brought to Indore for sale by a resident of Manawar in Dhar district (about 35 kilometres E-SE of Bagh). Wakankar 2002:53 calls it a Dhamnod (धामनोद) plate. Dhamnod is a further 50 kilometres east of Manawar. Judging by the record number, the Museum may have obtained the plate in 1978.
