Eight copper plates marked with numerical symbols '1' to '8' on the left of the second line of each plate; on plates 2-8, the number is on the recto of the plate but, on plate 1, it is on the verso, where the main inscription begins. The plates are secured with a ring and a seal. The seal is stamped with an image of a trident, a box, a crescent moon and a circular legend which is written in different characters to those found on the copper plates. |

Found in a mound in the village of Kondamudi and received by E. Hultzsch in June 1901 from Mr R. Morris, I. C. S., Collector of the Kistna district. The plates were then deposited in the Madras Museum, now the Chennai Government Museum, where they were catalogued by Sridhar and Balasubramanian in 2011 (Acc. No. 80/36). |
