Authority Francis, Emmanuel, and Griffiths, Arlo. (2017). EIAD 159. Elūra grant — reign of Devavarman, year 13. Early Inscriptions of Āndhradeśa. [Online.] Available at: http://hisoma.huma-num.fr/exist/apps/EIAD/works/EIAD0159.xml?&odd=teipublisher.odd [accessed 23 August 2019].
Details The charter was issued from Vēṅgīpura, which has been identified as the modern village of Pedavegi. The Ēlūra mentioned in the inscription has been identified as the modern town of Ellore/Eluru. It is not know where the plates were found, although it may have been near Ellore, given the content of the inscription. Hultzsch reported that V. Venkayya had received the original plates from the Collector of the Kistna district (Hultzsch 1907-08: 56). The plates were catalogued in 1918 as part of the museum collections at what was then called Madras (Srinivasa Ayyangar 1918: 36) and they were identified in the Chennai Government Museum (formerly Madras Museum) by EIAD on 8 August 2017.
