Misc notes | The place Bikaura or Vīkaura mentioned in the inscription is reported by Cunningham (1885, see Concordance) to be 5 miles south east of Madanpur on the banks of the Jāmini, with temple ruins also at Markhera on the opposite bank. This appears to refer to Pidauruwa पिदरुवा, 10 miles (16.2 km) south of Madanpur at Coordinates: 24°8’32″N 78°41’48″E. Madaiya मदैया is the adjacent village to the north-east. |
