Greeting from Mānagṛha. His numerous virtues illuminate his fame; meditating upon his father’s feet he is the banner of the race of the Licchavi family, the divine king, Śivadeva, in good health addresses to the households of the village of Mākhopringsatala draṅga, with chiefs in the front after good wishes and makes known this; As advised by Śrī Mahāsāmanta Aṃśuvarman, an illustrious personage of immaculate and vast fame, who through his heroic valour, conquered the power of the enemy camp and in response to his weighty advice and through compassion for you, I have banned the entry into the village by Kūthera office holders except for the purpose of collecting three taxes (i.e. Bhāga, Bhoga and Kara); their entry is banned also in cases of deciding disputes relating to documented gifts or sale deeds or the written documents for which gifts are sanctioned and to handle cases of the five crimes. Such is the favour bestowed on you.

And now that as it is known to you, nobody including those attached to my service, or the others, must change anything of it. And whosoever infringing my order would destroy it or cause to destroy it, I will absolutely not tolerate him. And the kings to come, they are considering that the gift is important being vested by teachers of traditional laws must observe it. This is what I had to make known (iyam ājñā).

The delegate here is Bhogavarman Gomin. Date: year 516 Jyeṣṭha śukla (clear fortnight) 5th day.

Hail! From Mānagṛiha. The illustrious Çivadeva, meditating on the feet of Bappa, who has illuminated the quarters by the dayspring of his countless virtues, being in good health, to the cultivators resident in the villages, being in good health, to the cultivators resident in the villages of Mākhoshṭam and Satsaradraṅga (?) under the lead of their headmen, with due enquires after their health, addresses the following order: - “Be it known to you that, at the request of the great feudatory Amçuvarman, who by his renowned, doughty and …prowess has subdued the might of his innumerable foes, out of regard for him and compassion for you, I grant you this boon, namely that the officials of Kūbervatī are allowed entrance for the levying only of not more than the three taxes, but not for granting writings or for the five offences and the like. Therefore this boon must not be infringed by our dependants who have cognisance of this, not by any other parties whatsoever and whosoever, in contravention of this order, does so infringe or cause infringement, him I will in no wise suffer, moreoever such kings as shall be after us, ought, as guardians of religion and (thus) as followers of grants (made), to preserve my order in its entirety. In this matter the executive officer is Bhogavarman Svāmin. Samvat 316, on the 10th of the bright fortnight of Jyeshtha.
