INIG1341c Surwāyā Inscription of VS 1341c

INIG1341c kārttika śudi 5 vu(bu)dhe Surwāyā (Shivpuri). On a slab. 25 lines, nāgarī, Sanskrit. Records that in the time of Gopāladeva a well was constructed by the Sārasvata brāhmaṇa Īśvara of Sarasvatīpaṭṭana (i.e. Surwāyā). Composed by Somamiśra, traced on the stone by Gāṅgadeva and incised by sūtradhāra Ratana. The date is also given in the chronogram: eka abdhi rāmarūpa. Now in Archaeological Museum, Gwalior.

INIG1341b āśvina śudi 1 Narwar (Shivpuri). Well inscription (near Rām mandir). 15 lines, old nāgarī, Sanskrit. Mentions the construction of a well in the time of mahārāja Gopāla by baniyā Rāma of the Vaṁsala gotra from Sevāyika village; the genealogy of Rāma is briefly given. The composer was Śivanātha.

INIG1339a Narwar Inscription of VS 1339a

INIG1339 pauṣa badi 10 guruvāra Narwar (Shivpuri). On a slab. 27 lines, old nāgarī, Sanskrit. Records the construction of a well (vāpī) and the planting of a garden (upavana) by Gaṅgadeva, son of Ajayadeva and minister (saciva) to Gopāladeva; also mentions Jayapāla or Jajapella, the progenitor of the Jajapella dynasty, who was brought forth at Ratnagiri by the goddess Mahāruṇḍā. Born in the Jajapella dynasty were Cāhaḍa (who captured Narwar or Nalagiri), his son Naravarman or Nṛvarman, his son Āsalladeva and his son Gopāla who defeated Vīravarman, lord of Jejabhukti.
